A feminine Oriental inspired spring and summer!

To get the right look this Spring and summer it’s important to get the clothes moving and being voluminous with different layers of fabrics, flounces and ruffles. Like the amazing Ermanno Scervino collection. Combined with semi transparent clothes it gives you the perfect romantic look. To hit the spot though it’s important as well to mix up the romantic look with floral prints inspired by the remote hippie culture. In fact this year the international catwalks were full of dresses with floral prints, girly butterflies painted with watercolors mixed with other colorful fabric prints. Like the Versace collection or even the Moschino collection Cheap and chic.

An other trend this new coming season is the tribal/oriental inspired style. With long dresses, python prints, kaftans, animal prints and African inspired accessories. The Roberto Cavalli collection have made some very exotic and tribal inspired kaftans with animal prints. A Must Have this spring and summer is in fact the exotic kaftans! The kaftans are available in different sizes, shapes and colors. That’s one reason why it’s extremely comfortable, the other is that it works great both day and night time! On the beach as well at the club with particular accessories and the right shoes! Gucci though have made some more elegant kaftans, in clear shining blue, red, ocean green and purple.

Purple is still trendy in fact this spring and summer it’s still top fashion. Designers this year have combined different shades of purple together as lilac, violet, plum and lavender. But also purple together with other strong colors. Yellow for instant which also is on the top this spring and summer! To continue with the strong colors which are definitely very trendy this spring and summer, all fluorescent colors are absolutely right. Like strong orange, florescent clear blue, yellow and green in different shades.

Different themes are popular as well, like the safari or marine theme. The classic safari jacket is perfect on mild spring afternoons. Put together with creamy colors, light blue jeans and some feminine accessories. The Dolce & Gabbana collection this year clearly demonstrate the marine theme, with red and blue and white and blue stripped shirts, as well as bathing suites. With sometimes even anchors printed on the chest to amplify the marine touch. Waist high trousers and funny bathing hats!

For summer nights it’s silk and satin with a metallic touch that rules! Long or short dresses made in this beautiful and elegant material could never be wrong but this spring and summer it’s more right than ever! Also these combined with sheer (see-trough fabrics) and unique decorations. A beautiful voluminous purple silk dress with big gold or silver accessories and high healed platform sandals could never fail this summer and spring!

Talking about high healed sandals the new expressive shoe fashion must be nominated. With its sky high healed shoes, gladiator sandals, thick platform sandals and thousand details. Like the crazy but obviously amazing collection Guiseppe Zanotti Design or Paciotti.

Are Yellow Labs mean dogs.?

Many people say that Yellow Labs (and all Labs for the matter) are very calm, friendly, and family-oriented. However i dont think they are. Mostly for because both my dog and my grandmothers were attacked by Yellow Labs (two seperate dogs). My dog was almost gutted and had to have 9 inches of intestine removed and my grandmothers had to have plenty of stitches. Ever since my grandmothers dog got mauled she has hated the breed, and I have to say I get sort of uncomferatble around them as well. Does anyone agree that Yellow Labs can be very mean dogs?

It’s hard to generalize-there’s always going to be exceptions. As a whole, yellow labs are genial, but specific ones may be prone to violence. Just like any other breed of dog.

Women golf market potential

According to the research firm for consumer, Women’s Golf Market is unveiled, including details a wide range of attitudes of serious women golfers about the game, the equipment, and the apparel they wear.

“In today’s challenging economic climate, where growth in the game of golf is stagnant, the potential to grow the women’s market is a higher priority than ever before, and efforts to cultivate and expand this segment are being considered and executed widely across the industry,” said Tom Stine, partner, Golf Datatech, LLC. “As a result of the need to grow the game, we undertook this extensive study so that companies both in and out of the industry can truly understand the perceptions, experiences and buying habits of the all-important serious women’s golf sector.”

Adds Stine, “While women’s golf presents a major growth opportunity for the industry, this study makes it clear that significant roadblocks must be overcome to consistently increase women’s participation in the game.”

In developing the Women’s Golf Market Study, over 1,000 female golfers from Golf Datatech’s exclusive database of Serious Golfers (a minimum of 12 rounds per year) participated in a survey regarding their golfing habits and perceptions, which was conducted last November. While a majority of female respondents to this study live active lifestyles and boast an average household income of six figures, an equal majority cited cost, time and family constraints as reasons preventing them from playing golf more frequently. Beyond those factors, which inhibit play, almost one in three female respondents considered the average golf course to be “a very male oriented place,” which inhibits more frequent play.

“While over 50% of the U.S. population is female, less than 25% of total golfers are women,” said Stine. “Combine the cost, time and family pressures with their overall perception of the male orientation at the golf course, and it’s not surprising that women leave the game as often as they enter. This is ultimately the basis for the women’s golf population to be at a near standstill.”

Among the key findings of the study were the following, which were related to women’s golfing habits, spending on golf, marketing and media habits:

Golfing Habits

Respondents were asked what they enjoy about playing the game and 91% said they like being outdoors, while 82% enjoy the time with friends, 80% are always trying to improve and 79% enjoy the challenge of the game.

When asked to identify the single factor they enjoy best about playing the game, 32% chose the challenge of the game as their primary motivation, while 18% said being with friends is most important.

One in three respondents thinks it “costs too much,” while almost half of all respondents said they would be likely to play more golf if it cost less.

Spending On Golf

The average female respondent estimates they spent slightly less than $700 in the past year on golf equipment, with 18% saying they spent over $1,000. They also estimate they spent an additional $515 on golf apparel, with 14% spending above $1,000. 74% of respondents believe that the technology in golf club designs can significantly improve their play.

When it comes time to purchase new golf clubs, 63% of females take the golf clubs out to a driving range or onto a golf course to try them out prior to purchase, while 58% gather information from their golf professional, 44% research products and trends online, and 43% read golf publications to get information on equipment trends ( More than Beauty— Anna Rawson ) .

Media Habits

55% of respondents said they watch golf or golf-related programming on television at least once per week, while 14% watch it three to four times per month. Also, of the respondents who watch golf or golf related programming on television, 94% said they frequently watch the PGA Tour and 80% watch the LPGA.

94% of the respondents use the Internet to look at golf related websites while 80% use it 25% of the time or less to look for golf related content. Among those respondents who use the Internet to gather information about golf and golf related products, 58% use it to get information on golf courses and/or for directions, while 55% get golf equipment pricing, 50% check on equipment specs, 49% get weather information as it relates to golfing, and 42% use the Internet to make tee times.

Among those who are members of at least one online community, 45% are members of Facebook, 34% use LinkedIn, 22% are on MySpace and 15% use YouTube.

While the above represents just a sampling of the survey results from the Women’s Golf Market Study, Golf Datatech concludes that, overall, female golf enthusiasts have many of the same needs, wants and desires as their male counterparts, embracing the challenge of the game and the camaraderie created by spending quality time on the links with friends, family and business associates. At the same time, both females and males alike say their frequency of play is constrained by the cost of the game and the time it takes to play.

“To effectively tap into the women’s market, golf courses, golf professionals, equipment manufacturers and all other engrained constituencies must make the game more accessible and welcoming to the female player,” adds Stine. “This study shows that the women’s golf market remains underdeveloped and underserved.”

Top 10 places in bangkok

While Bangkok was very long ago a small trading center and port community on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, today it has become the economic centre of Thailand. With its magnificent palaces, spectacular temples, the floating market, Bangkok holds the promise of an amazing experience for tourists.

1. Grand Palace and Wat Prakaew are the most popular ones. This palace houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Phra Kaew Morakot that dates back to the 14th century. Carved from a single block of emerald, the statue of Buddha is highly revered among the natives. The robes adorning Buddha are changed by the King of Thailand and this event is an important ritual for the Buddhists. Visitors to this place are expected to dress suitably in clothes that do not show their arms, legs and feet. Tourists who prefer to stay close to this palace can choose from one of the many Bangkok hotels located near the palace.

2. Wat Arun is another place of spiritual significance in Bangkok is Wat Arun. Known as the temple of dawn, Wat Arun’s towering spires is one of the most acknowledged temple landmarks of Southeast Asia. This temple was built in the ancient Khmer style during the reign of King Rama II in the 19th century. The Stupa or ‘Prang’ in Thai, with its ornate floral pattern decorated with glazed porcelain is a sight to behold. Though referred to as the temple of dawn, this spiritual centre is most beautiful and best witnessed during sunset.

3. Chinatown in Bangkok is another must-visit site for all visiting tourists. A market area with probably the highest number of gold shops in the city, Chinatown is chaotic yet an exotic place to visit. Populated with Chinese immigrants, this place once known for its illicit pleasures is now revered as a cultural hot spot. The brothels, opium dens and gambling joints have been long replaced by innumerable restaurants and shops selling great food, fabric and gold. A stroll through the narrow alleys in Chinatown can be a rewarding experience as it offers a glimpse in to the age old Chinese traditions and celebrations. Chinatown houses many of discount Bangkok hotels that offer a homely experience to its tourists.

4. Floating markets: Tourists can visit the floating markets to enjoy a unique shopping experience. Of the many floating markets, the Damnoen Saduak is most popular. Many wooden boats can be seen selling farm fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, flowers and fresh food that is cooked in the floating boat itself. This place still preserves the old culture and way of life that existed before the wave of global consumerism hit the world.

5. Wat Pho: A place of interest for tourists to learn a bit of history is the Wat Pho. Wat Pho houses an amazing collection of murals, inscriptions and sculptures of Bangkok.
6. Jim Thompson’s House and Museum has a huge collection of Thai art and antiques on display and are a delight for visitors who are interested in antiquing.

7. Siam Paragon gives tourists the rare opportunity to experience the ocean like never before, and explore more than 30,000 underwater species in its underground aquarium.

8. The Crocodile Farm has fresh and seawater crocodiles and numerous other animals. There is a dinosaur museum with life size skeletons. This place is one of the largest crocodile breeding centres of the world.

9. National Museum: Constructed in 1782, the National Museum in Bangkok has a huge collection of relics of the Thai culture. The different exhibits are displayed in three separate sections as per the historical periods they relate to, and the personal belongings of the royal family which are on display are quite popular among the visiting tourists.

10. The Ancient City is the world’s largest outdoor museum and presents the whole of Thailand at a glance. Build across an area of 280 acres; it has huge replicas of important temples, buildings and monuments of Thailand, preserving and presenting the true Thai culture and heritage.
With so many options and places to see, Bangkok leaves its visitors with a holiday packed with memorable sights and experiences. The many hotels in Bangkok welcome visitors from world over, providing a range of services as preferred by the different tourists.

What is a cosmic microwave?

Just after the birth of the universe, the atmosphere was extremely dense and glowing white hot. Through the ages, the universe has been cooling — a process that is still going on. Light waves from a very distant part of the early universe reached the earth, making it possible to see the glow. However, since the universe is still expanding, the frequency of the waves of visible light changes to microwave frequency This occurs due to the relative motion of either the source or receiver of the waves or both, with respect to each other. These waves, originating in the early stage of the cosmos, are cosmic microwaves.

Why is a theatre screen called silver screen?

Since the advent of films in the early 1900s, theatres have been trying to optimize their viewing quality During the 1920s, movie producers began to incorporate silver because of its reflective qualities, which delivered a better image. Eventually the use of silver lenticular screens would fall out of fashion as alternatives became available. But because of the early prevalence of silver in the production of screens, the term “silver screen” stuck.

Why are the Nazca drawings one of the great mysteries of archaeology?

In the hot deserts of southwest Peru are some immense, mysterious drawings called geoglyphs. Huge geometric patterns, spirals and figures of animals, and thousands of straight lines are immaculately drawn on the desert surface. Known as the Nazca Lines, after the Nazca Indians who lived there in ancient times, the drawings have mystified scientists ever since they were discovered in the 1920s. From the ground level, the drawings seem like a confused mass of lines. Only when viewed from the air, they convey a definite pattern. Scientists feel they could represent an astronomical calendar, or were part of a religious ritual.

Why do tornadoes usually spin anti-clockwise in the northern hemisphere, and clockwise in the southern hemisphere?

The spin in the two hemispheres is explained by the coriolis effect, which states that the earth, when viewed from the poles, rotates anti-clockwise in the northern, and clockwise in the southern hemisphere. Hence, thunderstorms (which usually travel from the equator to the poles) tend to veer to their left in the northern and right in the southern hemisphere. Tornadoes which occur in a particular area tend to inherit their spin from the direction of the prevailing winds, but this phenomenon is evident in only in large tornadoes.

A recent World Health Organization advisory laid that a typical one-hour hookah session exposes the user to 100-200 times the volume of smoke inhaled from a single cigarette. Even after passing through water, the smoke produced contains high levels of toxic corn pounds, including carbon monoxide heavy metals and carcinogens.

What are transparent soaps made of?

Transparent soaps are made of glycerin, and are partly soap and partly solvent. Sodium hydroxide causes crystals to form in soap, which is why the soap becomes opaque. In order to make it transparent, the soap has to be dissolved in enough solvent to make the crystals so small that light passes freely through, making the soap look transparent. There is no magic number when it comes to the quantity of solvent required. A good way to find the right quantity of solvents is to start by calculating a 60:40 soap-solvent ratio and then changing it to a 50:50 soap-solvent ratio.

The Greek lexicon describes it as a social sphere or group consisting of or dominated by predatory or conquest-oriented individuals. Aggressocratic hierarchies were once structured by penis length, but that was later changed.

Who won the first Paime d’Or at Cannes?

The Palme d’Or (Golden Palm) is the highest prize awarded to the director of the best feature film at the annual Cannes Film Festival. It was introduced in 1955 by the organizing committee, and the first was awarded to director Delbert Martin Mann Jr for his film “Marty”. The Palme d’Or was established as the film festival’s highest award until 1964, when it temporarily resumed awarding Grand Prix due to copyright problems with the Palm. In 1975, the Paime d’Or was reintroduced and became the symbol of the Cannes Film Festival.

What is biomagnification?

Some compounds are neither recycled by decomposers nor are they released into the atmosphere. Instead, they remain in the ecosystem in virtually unchanged form as they are passed from one organism to another by predation. For example, if a large fish consumes five small ones every day for several years, some of the compounds in their flesh is transferred to the larger fish. Over time, the larger fish accumulates these compounds. An example is the pesticide DDT — its toxic effects may not be apparent in the little fish but accumulation in the larger fish allows the effects to be magnified. Hence, the term biomagnification.

What is apogee?

Apogee is the point in an orbit most distant from the body being orbited. With reference to earth, it is the point in the orbit of a heavenly body, especially the moon, or a man-made satellite, which is farthest or most distant from the centre of the earth. It is also the farthest or highest point — the apex or climax. Perigee is the opposite of apogee and is the point in the orbit which is nearest to the earth.

What is the difference between rights and bonus issue?

Bonus issues are shares issued free of charge to shareholders. When a company accumulates a large fund from profits, much beyond its needs, the directors may decide to distribute a part of it among the shareholders in the form of bonus. Once a bonus is issued, the price of the shares is likely to drop as the value of the company’s assets is now spread over larger number of shares. Right shares are issued to existing shareholders who have the privilege to buy a specified number of new shares from the firm at a specified price within a specified time. A company can opt for a rights issue to raise capital under secondary market offering.

What is the Yellow Revolution?

The growth, development and adoption of new varieties of oilseeds and complementary technologies nearly doubled oilseeds production from 12.6 mt in 1987-88 to 24.4 mt in 1996-97, catalyzed by the Technology Mission on Oilseeds, brought about the Yellow Revolution. The term also stands for the People Power Revolution in Phillipines in 1986 against then President Ferdinand Marcos. It was a series non-violent protests where demonstrators used yellow ribbons during the arrival of Ninoy Aquino.

What is rumourtrage?

Rumourtrage is the practice of spreading false news about a company, leading to a drop in its stock price, and followed by increased trade in its shares. This is usually done before a takeover bid. Rumourtrage is common in the corporate world and authorities have found it tough to stamp out the practice as it hinges on hearsay. It is especially used by traders when the market is volatile.

Why do people sweat when theyare frightened?

Fight or flight are two universal responses to any stressful or life-threatening situation in every animal, including humans. In case of severe stress, the sympathetic nervous system is stimulated, which is meant for tackling such situations. It causes the release of adrenaline or epinephrine from the adrenal gland and nerve endings, this results in manifestations of symptoms of fright like sweating, increased heart rate, nervousness, pupil dilation, goose bumps, increased muscular and mental activity and blood supply to the brain and muscles.

What is the Kuiper Belt?

The Kuiper belt is a region of the solar system beyond the planets, extending from the orbit of Neptune. It is similar to the asteroid belt, although it is far larger — 20 times as wide and 200 times as massive. Like the asteroid belt, it consists mainly small bodies or remnants from the solar systern’s formation. The Kuiper belt objects are composed largely of frozen volatiles (termed ‘ices’), such as methane, ammonia and water. It is home to at least three dwarf planets — Pluto, Haumea and Makemake. Pluto, discovered in 1930, is considered its largest member.

Which was the first major language of Europe?

Most historians agree that Semitic was the mother of all European languages, including a few Asiatic languages. But Semitic had its birth in Asia (Syria and Palestine), so it cannot be called the first indigenous language in Europe. The first recorded indigenous language in Europe was an evolved form of ancient Phoenician, which later travelled north and west to the budding civilization in Greece where this language (crude with just around 22 characters) was developed by the addition of vowels. Thus, ancient Greek was the first major language of Europe.

Who invented the helmet and what is it made of?

The oldest known use of helmets was by Assyrian soldiers in 900 BC. They wore thick leather or bronze helmets to protect the head from blunt objects, sword blows and arrows in combat. Soldiers still wear helmets, now often made of lightweight plastic material, to protect the head from bullets and shell fragments. Today’s armed services use high-quality helmets made of ballistic materials such as Kevlar, which have excellent bullet and fragment stopping power.

What is a coco taxi?

Coco taxis are the Cuban equivalent of a rickshaw — a three-wheeled, fibre glass egg-shaped vehicle with two seats glued to a moped. They are called so because they are almost like spherical giant coconuts. Their plastic and fibre glass body, which looks round from the back and sides, forms a protective canopy around the passengers. They tend to flock around busy tourist areas in Cuban cities. Coco taxis, powered by a 75cc two-stroke petrol engine are noisy and more affordable than a regular taxi.

What are time dollars?

Time dollars are the credit a person earns hourly in a Time Bank, set up to facilitate people in a community. A member of a Time Bank earns it by doing something for someone in the community, like baby-sitting or running an errand. After the time dollars are credited in the member’s account, he can spend it on whatever he needs. It is a sort of barter system which is serving to bond communities and has turned into a social change movement in 22 countries.

What is the origin of the term Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is the anglicized form of the Danish word Bletand — Ble meaning blue — the victory title given to the 10th century King Harald Gormsson. Harald was born in circa 935 and ruled as King of Denmark around 958 and as King of Norway around 970. Bluetooth technology was invented in 1994 by Swedish company Ericsson, which found it appropriate to name it after the Scandinavian king who had united several Danish tribes and parts of Norway into a single kingdom. The implication is that a Bluetooth does the work of uniting different communication protocols into one universal standard.

What is the Lady Macbeth Effect?

Lady Macbeth, a character from Shakespear’s play “Macbeth”, had plotted to kill the king and would repeatedly wash her imaginary bloodstained hands, hoping it would wash away her sins. The Lady Macbeth Effect describes a psychological condition in which people who have done something wrong feel a need to wash their hands or body in order to clear their conscience. They tend to think that physical cleanliness can be a substitute for moral purity.

What is a barcode?

A barcode is an optical machine-readable representation of data on certain products. It can be read by optical scanners called barcode readers or scanned from an image by special software. It is the small image of lines (bars) and spaces affixed to retail store items, identification cards and postal mail to identify a particular product number, person or location. The code uses this sequence to represent numbers and other symbols. A barcode symbol typically consists of five parts: a quiet zone, a start character, data characters (including an optional checkcharacter), a stop character, and another quiet zone. There is no standard barcode.

What is brand interest?

Establishing a brand in the market is the true art of marketing. It’s not the product being consumed, but rather the image one has of it. Building a brand is not simply giving a product a name, but also creating an experience. This means keeping in mind the contact people have with the brand. A brand is a name, but when it is powerful, it makes a person think of much more: this is brand interest.

What does breaking bread mean?

Breaking of bread refers to the rite of Holy Communion by Christians. In the Gospel of St Mathew, 26:26, it is mentioned: While they were at supper, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, gave it to his disciples and said: ‘Take this and eat it, this is my body’. In other places also in the Bible, wherever the breakingof bread is mentioned, it refers to the celebration of the Holy Communion by Christ himself, or by the early Christians.

Trying to remember the name of a bollywood film?

I am trying to remember the name of a movie (i believe bollywood). From what I remember it was about a girl whose uncle died. He gave her a golden buddha for her birthday. He was somehow invovled in a robbery a long time ago, and he ran off with the money, and now his accomplices from the past robbery, think that he left it to his niece. They end up staying in a hotel and trying to find the money. But the girl has no idea where it is. Her boyfriend was a double agent the brother of one of the accomplices that died, but also a undercover cop.

any suggestions as to this movies title?
Thanks
I also remember the money was acutally a really exspensive old coin. Everyone over looked it. But it was one of the few things he left her.
probably a newer movie 90’s +

I think it is a Shashi Kapoor-Zeenat Aman movie from the 1970’s. Can’t remember the name.

I’m planning on proposing in St. Martin during a vacation in the near future, but don’t know much about the island (besides what I’ve picked up from some light reading). Any recommendations on places to propose – on a particular beach or restaurant or someplace else?? We’re staying in the Orient Bay area on the French side. Thanks!

We’ve been there several times, and we think the best place would be a restaurant called Le Sentel, it’s on the French side. It is a FABULOUS five star dining experience, they have tables that are set over the water. Definitely one of the most, if not the most romantic settings on the island. I will warn you, it is not cheap, but certainly well worth the price. The food is incredible, and the service is impeccable. Hope that helps !!! Good Luck !!!
